Why Coupon?

Why should one coupon?  There are many reasons people coupon.  Some do it to pay off debt, help save for college, for a vacation, or build a savings.  But let me tell you how I came to coupon.  After being laid off in January 2010, I had to figure out a way to be able to still provide for my family while being on Unemployment benefits until employment came along.

After I got over the initial shock of being unemployed, I started searching the internet mid-February to find out more about coupon-ing and I came upon Coupon Mama's  site in Rock Hill SC.  I was immediately drawn to her because her ministry lined up with my spirit--I think she says that numerous times in her classes that the person you learn from should line up with your spirit. There are so many sites out there that teach you how to coupon but her coupon-ing was based totally on the word of God and how we should be a good steward of whatever he's blessed us with.  Her motto for her coupon-ing ministry spoke to me...SHOP.SAVE.SHARE. After talking with her over FaceBook and email, I started coupon-ing faithfully in March 2010.  God blessed me to be able to go to one of her classes in June and I learned even more from her.  Her testimony and ministry has truly blessed me and my family.  Though I didn't set out to start teaching coupon-ing classes, I just see that there are so many people around me that I can bless just by sharing what I learned from her.  I'm still learning myself and I still lean on her for advise, but what I have learned why not share it?

My desire is to be able to help as many people that I can who are willing to learn how to a better steward of what has blessed them with while making their dollar stretch in these tough times and beyond.  I've spoken financial stability and freedom for my family, why not help someone else get there.  I know that without God's grace none of this would be possible for me.

  1. Thank you for teaching me the basics of couponing and help setting up my binder a few months ago. It is a "process" to learn but well worth the savings. The guys in my family are so in tuned to this that THEY make sure we always have the coupon binder every time the car moves...lol. You are a blessing to me and my family! This is now one of your ministries to touch as many people as you can.
