Well after talking a good friend through getting her coupons set and ready for a real shop...we ventured in the "blue" store and the commissary (military grocery store).
With the sales at the commissary and the low cost of one item at the "blue" store, we came out great.
I work on a weekly budget and this week my budget for household/hygiene items was a whopping $26.43. Did I come in under budget? Hmm, let me let you see what I got for what I had in my money envelope!
Breakdown:
10 - Gain dish detergent
6 - Mr Clean cleaning products
10 - WISK
1 - Charmin
6 - Mr Clean Erasers
2 - Kaboodle wet wipes
1 - Small Steps paper towel
5 - Tide
Walmart (the "blue" store): OOP $ 0.42
Commissary: OOP $30.59 ($4.30 was surcharge--so actual price with out surcharge would have been $26.43). So in essence I did come within my budget but going forward I will build in an extra $5 in my weekly budget to catch that surcharge, should I decide to do my personal hygiene/household shopping at the commissary. If I find deals somewhere else I will just put that $5 in my savings jar.
All the coupons used came from the mail call I got yesterday from Mad Coupons.
